The Bluff House is a private residence currently under construction, shaped by the realities of post fire rebuilding.. The project is conceived as a quiet composition of plaster volumes and warm wood ceilings, organized around daylight, privacy, and framed views to the coast. The architecture favors calm proportion and restraint, using a limited palette and deep thresholds to create shade and protection at the perimeter.
Interior spaces are planned as a sequence of simple rooms with skylit moments that soften the light throughout the day. Monolithic stone elements anchor the kitchen and utility zones, while built in wood surfaces bring warmth and continuity across living spaces. Large openings with dark, precise frames extend the rooms outward without making the house feel exposed.
Landscape is treated as an extension of the rebuild strategy, shaping outdoor rooms and durable edges while maintaining a quiet arrival. The result is a home that balances openness with performance, designed to feel grounded, minimal, and lasting in a bluffside setting.
